Ingredients
300g package firm tofu
1T cornflour
2T olive oil
2t sesame seeds
1/2c soy sauce
1T sesame oil
1/4c Manuka Emporium honey
1T lemon juice
1t garlic, minced
Method
1. Place the tofu between a few paper towels and rest a plate on top for 30 minutes to soak up excess water.
2. Mix together 1/4c of the soy sauce and the sesame oil and pour over the tofu in a shallow dish. Allow to marinate in the fridge for atleast 30 minutes.
3. Once marinated, cut into 16 pieces. Place into a ziplock bag with the cornstarch and gently shake to coat.
4. Heat the olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add the tofu around the pan and fry for 5 minutes until it forms a crust. Turn over and fry for another 5 minutes. Remove from the pan and sit on a paper towel to soak up excess oil.
5. Add the remaining soy sauce, honey, lemon juice and garlic to the pan over medium heat and stir constantly until it has reduced to a thickened sauce.
6. Pour the sauce over the tofu and sprinkle with the sesame seeds. Serve immediately.
